Lulumahu Falls Hike

Lulumahu Falls is a beautiful and family friendly hike. My family has done it several times and still find it very enjoyable. You will want to wear mosquito repellent and wear shoes. This is not a slipper hike.

Little ninja creeping into the forest
You start out walking through a bamboo forest. It can be a bit muddy and I've slid a few times in the mud so be careful.
Leaving the bamboo forest

There are multiple paths going through the bamboo forest. If you take the one leading toward the left it is only a short walk until you get to a clearing.

Running through the grass and yellow daisies
If you climb this small hill on the other side a large beautiful lake.

Beautiful lake that in unfortunately not swim-able.
Well beaten trail
The trail can be quite muddy, way more muddy then this picture shows it to be.
Natural jungle gym
In some places trees have fallen onto the path and you will have to climb over them.
Peacefully contemplating nature or just posing for a picture?

Waterfall at the end of the trail
Another posed photo
There is a small pool of water under the waterfall that you will see many people swimming in. As tempting as it can be do not swim in the water as it is contaminated by some type of bacteria as most of the fresh water in Hawaii is.
